| hello, xanga.
so there I was, piddling around on email and facebook when I looked up and saw on my page a bookmark for xanga. what has it been? 3 months? 4 months? what has happened? I used to feel out-of-touch when I went a week without reading people's entries. this just makes me super-out-of-touch. and now I feel guilty for not reading them. :-/
well, I really should be packing right now for YOUTH CONVENTION at San Jose CA. wow. can't believe it. this summer is going to fly by--and it already has! I've been spending much of my time working at Dairy Queen. I like it there. people are friendly for the most part because people are there to get ice cream. always a treat.
when I get back from san jose, I'm leaving for the DISCOVERY TRIP!!! oh man THAT'S gonna be a blast. 3 weeks of bus rides, camping, outdoors, great views, and great friends.
but seriously. I must get packing.
| my two favorite games that I have played today: Settlers of Catan and Killer Bunnies.
oh, and yay for snow which gets us out of school early.
HAHA I recently checked back in with homestarrunner.com (a hilarious website with homestar cartoons) and saw this Teen Girl Squad episode http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgs12.html and it's pretty much amazing.
If you haven't seen Homestar or Teen Girl Squad it might not make too much sense to you. But still watch it and check out the site. I also reccomend Strong Bad E-mail--that is if you have time for such hilariousness.
| it's about time for an entry from James.
these days off from school have been VERY nice. I got some stuff done... like yearbook... and got to DRIVE AROUND which is AWESOME. I like having my license. it's good.
tonight I'm going to see Medea at EMU (the play) at 7:30. if it's over in time I might see The Holiday at 10, also at EMU. Is anyone else going? Yesterday I saw Bobby--it had a bunch of famous actors in it.
by the way, if anybody has good pics of Sophomore people from this year and wouldn't mind them being in the yearbook, GIVE THEM TO ME. Nels and I are in charge of the Sophomore pages and would like to have more to choose from.
alright that's all for now. thank you for tuning in--until next time. james
| It's about time to sum up my week:
-I have played Monopoly 4 times this week with friends. It has become quite fun and competitive, and poor Nels always loses . haha sorry Nels you'll get a break sometime when you don't have to roll last! Kurtis, you need to buy the new Monopoly Here & Now version so we can play it sometime.
-Marten Becker left for Germany. We had a party for him at MYF with ice cream cake. I'm sure he misses everybody very much.
-Track starts soon. I need to run and lift weights this week to get prepared. Lester Zook is our coach, which is very exciting!
-I GOT MY 90 DAY LICENSE!!! NOW I CAN DRIVE!
-I drove to Lindale yesterday to put together subs for our Super Bowl Sub Sale. We sold them today and made $$$.
-I saw Stranger than Fiction on Friday. haha it was a funny movie.
-Yesterday I went to the District Band concert at HHS. It was AWESOME and the whole time I was thinking "man I wish I was up there." (for those of you who don't know, I had the stomach flu on the day of auditions). Good job Rose and Joe for making it! It sounded great!
WOW it is so windy! Me and my parents were just flying a kite and I came inside to finish this post. We were flying one of those 3D kites shaped like an old sailing ship, Like Pirates of the Carribean or Peter Pan. We got it at a yard sale. anyways...
I can't wait to see all the area musicals coming up soon! There's a group of people that are trying to see all of them, so if you're interested talk to me, rose, or nels.
Alright, I'm gonna go see the Super Bowl at Lauren's house now. have a good week, everyone!
| A month ago was Christmas Day...
Oh, and tomorrow Marten Becker does chapel because he's leaving soon to go back to Germany. Pray for him so he can find some good things to say to the school and that he'll have a good semester back in Germany.
